2023 has come with a lot of changes at Kelowna Yoga House. Covid-19 has become more mellow and allows us to come out of our house and meet in person at the studio. The January Open House brought old and new students into the studio and WHAT A REUNION WE HAD! An amazing gathering! Joy at being together again, stories told with gusto, hugs, laughter and of course cookies and tea.
New Year – New Beginning. The New Year brought changes not only to our posture but changes to our beloved Kelowna Yoga House. The studio has opened its doors to other methods of yoga such as Yin, Kundalini, Hatha flow, Vinyasa and Restorative while it continues to be the steadfast (fortress or beacon) of the Iyengar tradition.
B.K.S Iyengar said that in Yoga there is no end but always a beginning. Yoga is one, and its aim is one but the teaching and interpretation might be different. Yoga evolves, expands, accepts, reconsiders, reevaluates, and clears the mind and purifies the soul. It is up to the individual to choose and follow a method.
So here we are, Kelowna Yoga House is embracing other methods with an open mind. Our Kelowna Oasis has opened its doors to the Yoga World. With Gratitude in yoga and Guruji, BKS Iyengar.
